Current role and experience
Dr Huxstep is really excited to be joining the paediatric team in Truro and becoming part of the congenital heart disease network. Dr Huxstep loves the balance and variety that general paediatrics gives her, but her true passion lies in paediatric cardiology.
Dr Huxstep completed her general paediatric training in London in 2019. During her training she undertook two years of tertitary cardiology level working both at Evelina Children's Hospital in congenital and general cardiology, but also at Great Ormond Street in heart failure and heart transplantation.
In addition Dr Huxstep has experience in neonatal intensive care having worked in Homerton, and in paediatric intensive care working at Evelina in the PICU and for the South Thames Retrieval Service.
Interests outside of work
Dr Huxstep is really excited to be moving to the South West and embracing the outdoors lifestyle. Her daughter is keen to get a dog and they both enjoy horse riding and fresh air.
