Dr Addin is a paediatrician with special interest in cardiology. This means, in addition to his training in general paediatric and neonatal medicine, he trained in paediatric cardiology. Dr Addin's cardiology training-posts were in Glasgow Royal Hospital for Sick Children and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. He has also received training in paediatric cardiac intensive care at Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow.
Dr Addin is certified by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography. With this varied experience, he can offer support to children with complex medical needs and ensure not only their cardiac but wider needs are all met. Dr Addin works closely with the cardiology team in Bristol and their visiting cardiologist, Dr Tometzki.
Dr Addin enjoys teaching GPs and paediatric trainees about common childhood cardiac conditions and is a professional mentor of medical students at the University of Bristol.
Current role and experience
Dr Addin offers a weekly cardiology clinic at the Royal United Hospital in Bath where he assesses children and young people referred from other paediatricians and GPs with cardiac concerns such as murmurs, palpitation, irregular heart rate, syncope, cyanosis and dizzy spells.
Interests outside of work
Dr Addin has 3 young children and 2 rabbits who keep him busy most of the time! He enjoys cycling and swimming, and loves cooking and gardening.
