Current role and experience
Dr Mappa is a Consultant Paediatrician at Great Western Hospital, Swindon. Having graduated from India, he did most of his paediatric training in Severn and got his CCT in 2013. His training involved 18 months in Paediatric Cardiology during which time he got his Euro echo accreditation. His current role involves co-ordinating care of patients with complex congenital heart disease and managing simple congenital heart diseases. Dr Mappa also sees patients with other suspected cardiac symptoms including palpitations, chest pain and unexplained collapses. His emerging interest in epilepsy and his cardiology expertise helps him evaluate patients with these difficult to explain symptoms.
Interests outside of work
Dr Mappa has got a lovely family with 2 little boys with whom he spends most of his spare time. Dr Mappa has been playing table-tennis since his childhood and currently plays in the Bristol winter league. He is also trying to live his childhood dream of playing good competitive cricket.
